displaying Jpeg2000 or Geotiff in python

Hello I downloaded Jpeg2000 and a geotiff image using http://ift.tt/UUYScs

How do I render a jpeg2000, or geotiff image in python(is it like any jpeg or tiff?), and after a api for plotting on it, do i use wx, gdal. I am clueless
