Use NASA data (.grd) in ArcMap 10.2?

I am trying to use soil texture data from NASA (http://ift.tt/1a7auXT), but I cannot figure out how to use the .grd file type in ArcMap. I have tried to save as .asc and then convert from ASCII to raster, but I keep on receiving an error. How do I fix this?
