Snapping issues with ArcMap in Virtual Box, Windows 8 guest

Have a weird issue with ArcMap...

I'm using a Linux host, Windows 8 guest, to run ArcMap 10.2. Snapping works, but only near the center of the window... If I go outside of an imaginary box from the center, snapping doesn't work. Is this a known issue? Is there a fix for it? Thanks!
